Brent Brander (Chickasaw) has always loved art. From an early age, he found he could draw things and people loved them.
He followed his dream and went to art school, planning to pursue a degree in commercial art/advertising. During this time, his teachers often tried to convince him to change his emphasis to painting. Self-proclaimed as hard-headed, he continued with advertising instead.
Now, after a successful 35+ year career in advertising, Brent has finally given in to his teachers’ wishes. Brent specializes in abstracts, palette knife landscapes, and wordfaces portraits. His Woody Guthrie wordface was recently featured in Royce Myers gallery for his “Icons, the Tulsa Sound and Other Legends” show.
